Cesena, 14 November 2025 – Promoting companies that combine innovation, responsibility and respect for the environment, contributing concrete ideas to the energy transition process in their local areas.
This was the spirit behind the 2025 Gentile Energy Award, promoted by E.CO Energia Corrente and CRE Consorzio per le Risorse Energetiche, presented to participants on Friday 14 November as part of the Energia Corrente Sustainability Day 2025 event.
The event, held at the Verdi Theatre in Cesena, was attended by representatives of the Group’s 124 member companies, local and regional institutions and stakeholders.
The Mayor of Cesena, Enzo Lattuca, accompanied by members of the City Council, and representatives of the Emilia-Romagna Region also took part in the initiative, offering their institutional greetings and emphasising the importance of public-private collaboration for energy transition and sustainability in the region.
Founded in 1999, the CRE Group, together with its subsidiary E.CO Energia Corrente, is now a benchmark in the supply of energy, gas and certified green energy.
Among the most significant moments of the day were the technical presentations and the contribution of Serena Giacomin, physicist, meteorologist and climatologist, scientific director of the Italian Climate Network.
An award inspired by the Group’s values
‘Energia Gentile” Award represents a further step in the sustainability journey of E.CO Energia Corrente and CRE,’ commented CEO Vincenzo Maria de Rosa. ‘The initiative was created to recognise and promote business experiences that reflect the Group’s values, focusing on environmental responsibility, social impact and collaboration as drivers of change.’
‘E.CO Energia Corrente and its parent company CRE Consorzio Risorse Energetiche are now among the leading players in the energy sector in Emilia-Romagna, with customers throughout Italy, including households and businesses,’ explained Chairman Giancarlo Ferlini during the award ceremony. Promoting sustainability is in our DNA, and the creation of this award also serves to recognise and pay tribute to our members and customers who, every day, acknowledge our leading role in the long journey towards energy transition.”
Eleven CRE member companies participated in the first edition of the award, presenting projects of excellence in the fields of environmental and social sustainability.
The jury, which met in two sessions, emphasised the high quality of the proposals received, judging them all worthy of formal recognition.
‘However,’ explained Giovanna Signoretti, the Group’s communications and sustainability manager, ‘as we had to award a limited number of prizes, the final choices were guided by innovation, originality and consistency with the vision of the E.CO CRE Group, rewarding the projects most representative of that gentle energy capable of generating shared value for people and the environment.’
